I mentioned previously that in order for us to install the plumbing upstairs for our bathroom, we had to rip out the plaster walls downstairs in our living room to run the pipes through the walls. And, it was kind of an unexpected project that totally stressed me out, and also made us both really excited because the existing paneling covering the walls was in pretty bad shape. So about two months ago, we cleared out our living room completely, except for a few large items, and we started to demo out plaster and lathe. We also decided to scrape down the ceiling since it had a popcorn finish, and we knew we wanted to rid ourselves of it. Currently, Josh has all the drywall up, and is almost done with the first round of taping, and our goal is to be priming and painting by next weekend, and moved back in at the end of August.

This wall now has all kinds of pipes and electrical running in it. |

So close to being done with taping! That back wall is where the wall gallery mentioned below will go. |
And that, my friends, is the boring story of what we've been up to.
In the meantime, I've been plugging away at finally designing the room how I want it. Not much will change because we had been living in it for about a year and had already kind of, sort of had it how we planned on keeping it. But, because we drywalled the room, I was itching to put up our wall gallery, hang a few extra homey touches, wall-mount the TV, get a new TV stand and really make the room how I want it. The TV room is our downstairs sanctuary, and I've really missed having it. So finalizing the design details over the past few weeks has been so exciting. Here's a quick little peek into the design of our wall gallery. Stay tuned.

My Photoshop skills are lackluster, but at least this helped me visualize everything. |
I am looking forward to seeing your bathrooms and the new living room. I have done dry wall and I understand completely the tediousness of it!
